PUBLIC SPEAKING

I just did a TED Talk! It went great! More details when they release the video.

RADIO APPEARANCES

I’ve appeared six times so far on public radio’s This American Life, mostly telling humorous stories about my conservative Christian upbringing. Here’s one of them.

Outside of Talk of the Nation, most of my radio work has been about my YouTube channel, Greeting Card Emergency, where people ask me for greeting-card help in awkward situations.

Here’s my first appearance on Talk of the Nation.

Here’s one of my appearances on Studio 360, talking about the 2012 election.

This is me on Weekend Edition, giving instant advice about Valentine’s Day.

Here’s the link to my appearance on the final episode of Talk of the Nation.

EDITING & SCIENCE/TECHNICAL WRITING

I have an editing contract with the California Academy of Sciences to make sure their planetarium shows—most recently, an asteroid feature called Incoming!—convey accurate information in an efficient and entertaining manner.

I edited curriculum for the Navy Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program, helping to turn sometimes complicated addiction research into specific teachable and actionable content units.

I edited the first three volumes of Eric Dean Seaton’s graphic novel trilogy The Legend of the Mantamaji, and am co-writing and editing all three books of the second series.
